Awards
The faculty of the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Georgia Tech
includes three members of the National Academies, nine fellows of the
American Association for the Advancement of Science, as well as fellows
of the Alfred P. Sloan, Dreyfus and Beckman Foundations. The faculty continues
to gain recognition through the receipt of local, national, and international
awards. Recent awards and recognitions include:
- Seth Marder, received the Arthur C. Cope Scholar award from the American Chemical Society
- Joseph Perry, elected as fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science
- Bridgette Barry, elected as fellow of the American Chemical Society
- Paul Wine, elected as fellow of the American Chemical Society
- Rigoberto Hernandez, elected as fellow of the American Chemical Society
- Raquel Lieberman, Pew Charitable Trusts Scholar Award
- David Sherrill, elected fellow of the American Physical Society
- Robert Whetten, received the Finland Distinguished Professor Award (FiDiPro)
- Mostafa El-Sayed, awarded the Medal of the Egyptian Republic, First Class
