Five College of Sciences researchers are among 12 Georgia Tech scientists named to Clarivate Analytics’ annual Highly Cited Researchers list.
The 2019 list from Clarivate’s Web of Science Group includes:
- Walter A. de Heer, Physics
- Nga L. “Sally” Ng, Geosciences
- Zhong Lin Wang, Materials Science
- Rodney J. Weber, Geosciences
- Younan Xia, Chemistry
The list identifies scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated significant influence through publication of multiple papers, highly cited by their peers, during the years 2008-2018. As stated on the Web of Sciences website, researchers are selected for their exceptional performance in one or more of 21 fields, or across several fields. Clarivate Analytics began designating cross-field researchers for its 2018 selections.
Walter A. de Heer is Regents Professor in the School of Physics. He is renowned for research on nano-patterned epitaxial graphene and nanoclusters in beams.
Nga L. “Sally” Ng is an associate professor with joint appointments in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She studies aerosols, including their formation, life cycle, and health effects.
Zhong Lin Wang is Regents Professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering and an adjunct professor in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Rodney J. Weber is a professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. His research interests focus on atmospheric chemistry, clouds, and aerosols, along with urban air quality and related health effects.
Younan Xia is a professor with joint appointments in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering, School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
