Every summer, many of our students head off to other universities, government labs and corporate jobs to gain experience, explore future careers, make some money, build their resumes and have fun. This year, two of our students are participating in the DOE SULI (Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships) program. Hunter Bell reports that “Participating in the SULI program at the Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL) has been an incredibly enriching experience on all fronts. It allows the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in state-of-the-art facilities, grants insight into the day-to-day life of full-time work within a federal laboratory, and harbors endless networking opportunities with your cohort of interns along with established scientists." He also sent some photographs of facilities at ORNL that he has visited.
